ORGANIZATION SYSTEMS COACHING/ Evolving Teams

Effective teams and relationships are key to improving performance within
organizations.
If you are looking to take a team to a higher level of performance, if a business
relationship is stuck, or if there is conflict and the usual remedies are not working,
coaching is a powerful intervention that will support you in meeting your objective.
Systems Approach
Yay take a systems based approach to coaching teams and partnerships, focusing on the
relationship between the individuals rather than the individuals themselves. In this
approach, we listen for and work with the voice of the relationship or the team its needs
and wants and the wisdom it has to offer. Rather than focusing on whos doing what to
whom, we reveal what is trying to happen within the system.
We work with teams and partners to be conscious and intentional about their relationship,
to develop leadership competency, to develop skills for effective team communication and
conflict resolution and to create clear vision and direction.
Benefits include:
• Increased inter-departmental understanding and collaboration through reduction of
silos
• Heightened awareness of whats happening within the system, and skills to respond
• Development of constructive conflict skills leading to quicker resolution and more
productive outcomes.
• Improvements in communication and relationships are sustainable and across the
system
• Increased positivity within the work environment, supporting lasting productivity
• Team retains control subsequently and is not reliant on expert input
Team Coaching Process
We guide the client team through 5 steps. The core of the process is an assessment of
where the team are today. Depending on the client objectives we may recommend either
the Team Diagnostic Assessment or The Leadership Circle Cultural Survey. Both provide a
map for closing the gap between where the team is today and where it can be. The
process provides a range of team skills training and team coaching customized to each
team.
Team Diagnostic Assessment
The assessment is a state of the art instrument, based on a proven model that defines the
necessary strengths of high-performing, sustainable, inspired teams.
The Team Diagnostic Assessment offers:

• A practical way to measure the system that is the team
• A comprehensive model that defines strengths that teams need in order to succeed
• A new mindset that takes the focus off of individual team members one-to-one
relationships and focuses instead on the entity that is the team.
Measuring the Team as a System
The Team Diagnostic Assessment evaluates the entire team as a system rather than
evaluating individuals. The key to long term team effectiveness begins with an accurate
profile of team strengths and challenges. The resulting profile measures the team on two
axes: factors that lead to increased productivity and factors of positivity. Studies show that
by increasing positivity, productivity improves. The profile graphically benchmarks team
scores in 14 separate areas.
Foundation
The approach is based on systems theory and the work of The Center for Right
Relationship, leading authorities in this emerging team development field. The model and
assessment incorporate the latest work in Emotional Intelligence, Appreciative Inquiry and
team research.
On-Line Administration
Team members go on-line to access the instrument; when the team is complete,
responses are compiled for the whole team. The result is an anonymous and candid report
from the team, including their responses to a set of open-ended questions. With
confidentiality protected team members are more frank and the results more revealing.
This is not a generic survey.
